An annual compliance calendar is a dated list of the filings, payments, renewals and reviews that a high-net-worth family based in Singapore must deal with every year. The items fall into two groups. Some have fixed dates, such as the 18 April deadline for Singapore individual tax filing, the property tax payment date, the 31 December SRS contribution deadline and the 30 June deadline for reporting overseas income in mainland China. Others are event-driven, such as the expiry of a PR's Re-Entry Permit (REP), pass renewals, tax clearance on leaving a job or Singapore, and National Service registration when a son reaches 16 and a half. The first group is the same every year; the second varies by person and needs to be logged separately.
How to use it: first fill in each family member's status and expiry dates using this page, then check against it once a quarter. Dates follow each authority's announcements for the year; this page was updated on 2026-10-23.
First quarter (January to March): property tax and preparing to file
| Month | Item | Who it applies to | Basis | Page on this site |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| January | Pay the year's property tax: 2026 bills were issued from December 2025 and payment was due by 2026-01-31; those on GIRO pay by instalment plan | Owners of property in Singapore | IRAS 2026 Property Tax Bill (2026-08-06) | Housing |
| January | S-AEIS applications open (early January for 2027; written tests from around late February to early March, with admission in April or May) | International students planning to enter government schools | MOE International students (2026-07-17); MOE S-AEIS (2026-07-01) | Schooling |
| February to March | IRAS sends filing notifications; gather the previous calendar year's income, relief documents and employer income data | Singapore taxpayers | IRAS Basic guide (2026-04-16) | Tax residence |
| From 1 March | Singapore individual income tax filing season opens | Individuals required to file | IRAS Tax Season 2026 (2026-08-14) | As above |
| From 1 March | Mainland China filing period for resident individuals' overseas income opens (until 30 June) | Mainland China tax residents | MOF and STA Announcement No. 3 of 2020 | As above |
The first quarter is about settling the previous year's affairs. Property tax bills are often sent at year-end, and families who did not update their address promptly after landing can easily miss them. On tax filing, the Singapore and mainland China filing periods both open in March, so the income records for both can be gathered in one go. Property tax rates and the owner-occupied versus non-owner-occupied basis follow the IRAS property tax pages.
Second quarter (April to June): filing deadlines in both places
| Month | Item | Who it applies to | Basis | Page on this site |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 18 April | Singapore individual income tax filing deadline ("The Individual Income Tax Filing Deadline is 18 Apr") | Individuals required to file | IRAS Tax Season 2026 | Tax residence |
| From late April | Notices of Assessment (NOA) are issued, generally until late September; pay by the deadline stated on the notice | Singapore taxpayers | IRAS Tax Season 2026 | As above |
| 31 May | Singapore Reporting Financial Institutions submit CRS information to IRAS (an institutional obligation requiring no action from individuals, but it means the previous year's account information enters the exchange process) | Holders of accounts or cash value policies with Singapore financial institutions | IRAS CRS Overview (2026-09-09) | Bank accounts |
| 30 June | Mainland China deadline for reporting resident individuals' overseas income (1 March to 30 June of the following year) | Mainland China tax residents | MOF and STA Announcement No. 3 of 2020 | Tax residence |
18 April and 30 June are the two most important filing deadlines of the year. Families who may be tax resident in both places should obtain professional tax advice in each, and should not treat the filing outcome in one place as a substitute for the other. Jurisdiction: Singapore and mainland China.
Third quarter (July to September): Notices of Assessment and school admission
| Month | Item | Who it applies to | Basis | Page on this site |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| July | The AEIS process usually starts in July; watch for MOE's registration announcement | International students planning to enter government schools the following January | MOE AEIS (2026-07-17) | Schooling |
| July to September | Check any NOA received and raise objections under IRAS rules if needed; confirm payment arrangements | Singapore taxpayers | IRAS | Tax residence |
| September | AEIS written test (1 to 3 September in 2026, held in Singapore) | Students sitting the test | MOE AEIS | Schooling |
| Late September | NOA issuance generally ends by this point; anyone who has not received one can check with IRAS | Singapore taxpayers | IRAS Tax Season 2026 | As above |
The third quarter is lighter and suits a mid-year check: see whether any family member's pass or REP expires within the next 6 to 12 months, and prepare renewal documents early.
Fourth quarter (October to December): SRS, policy reviews and closing the year
| Month | Item | Who it applies to | Basis | Page on this site |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| October to November | Annual policy review: sums assured, beneficiary nominations, area of cover, changes to group insurance | All families | LIA nomination guide (2026-03); MoneySense | Building an insurance portfolio |
| November to December | Check that the helper's work permit, medical and accident insurance and security bond remain valid | Families employing a helper | MOM (2026-09-18; 2026-02-02) | Medical insurance |
| December | The following year's property tax bills are issued (for example, 2026 bills were issued from December 2025) | Property owners | IRAS 2026 Property Tax Bill | Housing |
| 31 December | SRS contribution deadline: contributions must be made by 31 December to count towards SRS relief in the following Year of Assessment; the annual cap is S$15,300 for citizens and PRs and S$35,700 for foreigners; foreigners must submit a declaration form to their SRS operator bank each year; banks may set an earlier cut-off | SRS account holders | IRAS SRS contributions and tax relief (2026-08-14) | savings.sg |
| December | Record the year's days of stay in Singapore and mainland China, keeping evidence for next year's tax residence assessment in both places | Family members who travel between the two | IRAS tax residence rules; Article 1 of the PRC Individual Income Tax Law | Tax residence |
SRS withdrawals before the statutory retirement age are generally fully taxable and incur a 5% penalty (MOF, 2026-04-15). Whether to open an account and how much to contribute each year should be judged against tax residence and future residence plans; for how it works, see the sister site's page on CPF and SRS for newcomers (savings.sg), and for how SRS fits with insurance, see saving.com.sg. Jurisdiction: Singapore.
Event-driven milestones
The items below have no fixed date, but once triggered they carry clear deadlines or consequences. Keep an expiry-date table for each family member.
| Trigger | What to do | Deadline or rule | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| A PR plans to leave Singapore | Confirm they hold a valid REP | From 2025-12-01, a PR who leaves without a valid REP, or whose REP expires while abroad, must apply within 180 days or lose PR status | ICA (2026-03-13) |
| REP nearing expiry | Prepare the renewal application; the REP fee is S$10 for each year or part of a year | For PRs through GIP, the renewal window opens 3 months before REP expiry; renewal is assessed by ICA and not guaranteed | ICA; EDB GIP Factsheet (2025-05-05) |
| EP, ONE Pass or other pass nearing expiry | Renew through the employer or yourself as notified by MOM; check dependants' passes at the same time | As notified by MOM | MOM |
| A non-citizen employee leaves a job, is posted overseas or leaves Singapore for more than 3 months | The employer files IR21 tax clearance | The employer notifies IRAS at least one month in advance | IRAS (2026-08-14) |
| Obtaining PR | CPF contributions start, at graduated rates for the first two years; MediShield Life cover begins automatically | From the date PR is granted | CPF Board; MOH |
| A son turns 13 (if liable for National Service) | Apply for an exit permit for trips of 3 months or more | As required by CMPB | ICA; CMPB |
| A son turns 16 and a half (citizen or PR) | Register for National Service | At 16 and a half | CMPB (2025-07-22) |
| Change of jurisdiction of tax residence | Update CRS self-certifications with banks and insurers | As required by the financial institution | IRAS CRS |
| Marriage, divorce, birth of a child, buying a home | Review policy nominations, wills, CPF nominations and sums assured | As soon as possible | LIA; MoneySense |
| Moving house | Update your address with IRAS, ICA, MOM, banks and insurers | As required by each organisation | Each organisation |
For individual cases involving National Service or the REP, check with CMPB or ICA; the rules are explained in after you obtain PR.
Annual milestones for companies and family offices
If the family has a company, single family office or Variable Capital Company (VCC) in Singapore, company-level annual obligations need to be tracked separately. This site lists only the categories and does not go into specific deadlines:
| Item | Authority | Basis for deadlines |
|---|---|---|
| Annual Return | ACRA | Deadlines set by ACRA according to company type; see ACRA's company compliance page (2026-09-24) |
| Annual General Meeting (AGM) | ACRA | As above, depending on company type |
| Corporate income tax filing and Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) | IRAS | Deadlines under IRAS corporate income tax rules |
| Notifications and annual returns for single family offices | MAS | Under the new framework effective 2026-06-15, qualifying single family offices must notify MAS and submit annual returns, with a transition period to 2027-06-15 for existing family offices (MAS, published 2026-06-11) |
| Annual conditions for tax incentive schemes (such as 13O / 13U) | MAS, IRAS | As set out in the approval letter and by the authorities |
Company-level deadlines differ from individual filing and are usually tracked by the company secretary, accountant or fund manager. For family office and VCC structures, see the sister site's family office section (hnwsolution.sg).
A 15-point annual self-check
Each December, or after individual tax filing is done, run through this checklist:
- Is every family member's status, pass type and expiry date logged;
- Are PR members' REPs valid, and do any expire in the next 12 months;
- After the main applicant's pass is renewed, have the dependants' passes been renewed too;
- Have this year's days of stay in Singapore and mainland China been recorded;
- Was Singapore individual income tax filed by 18 April, and has the tax on the NOA been paid in full;
- Does mainland China overseas income need to be reported by 30 June, and has professional advice been obtained;
- Was property tax paid by the deadline, or is GIRO set up;
- Does an SRS contribution need to be made by 31 December;
- Do the CRS self-certifications held by banks and insurers match the current jurisdiction of tax residence;
- Does every family member have hospital cover;
- Does the life cover sum assured cover current debts and household spending;
- Do policy nominations, wills and CPF nominations reflect the family's latest circumstances;
- Are the helper's work permit, insurance and security bond valid;
- For sons liable for National Service, have exit permits and registration timing been planned;
- Are annual filings for the company, family office or VCC being handled by a professional.
Jurisdiction: Singapore and mainland China. For tax and residency matters, obtain professional advice where you are tax resident. If you would like a calendar built around your own family's circumstances, you can register your needs through the contact details on this site.
